We are swimming from Padstow to Rock to raise money for Marie Curie, a fantastic care and support charity that is close to our hearts.

This is a challenging one-mile open water swim across the notorious Camel Estuary.

Inter-family rivalry is stiff: Nicky is a natural swimmer, swimming at Sidmouth every weekend of the year; William swims competitively and loves a distance event; Simon has the advantage this year of not having a broken shoulder, which removed him from the event last year.

There are however some weaknesses: Nicky doesn't like getting her hair wet (or brown fish?!); William suffers from extreme over confidence (and has a less fancy wetsuit than his parents); whilst Simon can only really do moderate breaststroke. All three have a variety of excuses to roll out should they not lead the field home...

Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in peoples homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.
