Twenty years ago Robin House Childrens Hospice (part of the CHAS family) opened. I joined the nurse bank later that year and loved what the charity stood for. Three years later in January 2009 I made the leap from NHS to a permanent post in CHAS and I have never looked back.

CHAS is a very different organisation to when I first started there. It has grown beyond recognition, supporting children not only in the two hospices, but in communities right across Scotland (including the islands).

As I move towards early retirement at the start of 2026, and get to fulfill my lifetime dream of running the London Marathon, I couldnt think of a more worthwhile charity to be supporting

This will be in memory of all those children and families I have had the privilege of working with.
