Sooooo this year Evan asked if I could run The Great North Run 2024 with him, I’ve always wanted to share a rugby pitch with my sons but non of them followed in my footsteps but for Evan to ask me to do this is a unbelievable chance for me to experience something amazing with one of my sons - so even though I’m 22 years his senior and kicked to bits from 30 years of playing the sport I love, I had to say YES!!!

This event also allows us to raise funds for Mesothelioma UK, a charity close to our hearts as my sister in law is fighting everyday against this devastating disease.

It affects thousands of people every year. It is caused by exposure to asbestos and has a profound impact on the lives of those diagnosed and their loved ones. The work done by Mesothelioma UK is truly remarkable, providing vital support, information, and resources to patients and their families.

We are determined to make a difference in the lives of those affected by this terrible disease. Our goal is to raise £500 for Mesothelioma UK, and we cannot achieve this without your help. Every donation, no matter how small, will contribute towards providing essential services and improving the quality of life for those battling mesothelioma.
