Climbing Kilimanjaro has been on my bucket list for years, and at long last I am now giving it a go! On 10th February I will be starting this trek and attempting reach the summit in 8 days....wish me luck!

Whilst I am doing this for my own madness and personal achievement, a number of people have asked if I would be raising money for charity and it seemed like a good idea if anyone else could benefit from my hair-brained scheme!

As close family and friends know, my best friend has been diagnosed with secondary cancer in 2022, it was a massive shock to us all at the time and she has been inspirational in the way she has approached everything with such strength and courage. I wanted to support her in my own small way, and this is the charity she chose.

She had her own personal connection with this charity after one of her close friends lost their battle with their own secondary diagnosis later that year. This friend was a trustee for METUP UK and my fundraising is in honour of two incredible women - Loubie and Sam.

This lesser known charity carries out amazing work advocating for support for those with secondary breast cancer - not as well known and big bang as MacMillan and all the other amazing charities, but doing just as an important job.
