Story
Andy loved the Ealing Half!
I found it so difficult watching others last year instead of Andy I decided to take control this year and do something positive to raise awareness and funds for 2 amazing charities that have helped me so much since Andy's death. Without them and the special people working/volunteering for them we would not be where we are.
Not an easy challenge for me with lingering impact of long covid as training been when I feel well enough (not often enough) but here goes and hoping I can do it within double Andy's best time of 1hr 22 🙄.
Lauren is also doing it and I am a proud proud mum!
The charities are
Allkind - they contacted me within 48 hours and I had counselling with them weekly for as long as i needed. They just gave me selfish me time when I could ask all the questions spinning in my head, rant, cry and laugh. They continue to see the kids. The fact that they contacted me and i did not have to go searching just made the difference along with it being free when i was sorting finances is difficult to put into words. I want as many people to get this help going forward
Widowed and Young - so sad to be young enough to "qualify" but amazing to have the support. The monthly zooms with people who are going through exactly the same as me with way their partners died has held me together at times. I have counted down the days some months to feeling less isolated and having a catch up
Any help would mean the world to the charities and me (I have just realised I can only easily set up with 1 charity on Just Giving so will be matching donations and giving to WaY😉)
