Nicola Harrison is raising money for Vetlife

Twickenham Stadium Zip Wire challenge 2026 · 16 October 2026

Brave participants from across the veterinary community are coming together to take on a unique and iconic challenge in aid of Vetlife, zipping 150 metres across the iconic Twickenham Stadium!

Story

On October 16th I’m taking part in the Zipwire Challenge over Twickenham Stadium to raise money for Vetlife. For those of you who know me well, you’ll know that Vetlife is a charity particularly close to my heart.

Vetlife does such incredibly important work supporting the veterinary community through some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Behind the profession we all love, are real people who can face immense pressure, stress and challenges, often quietly.

Working in the veterinary profession, I’ve seen first-hand the impact that the job can have on the people who do it. Most of my closest friends are vets, and I’ve seen the highs, the lows and the pressures that come with a career that we all care so deeply about.

UK studies indicate that the suicide rate among veterinary surgeons is at least 3-4x that of the general population, highlighting just how vital organisations like Vetlife are in supporting the people behind the scenes.

They provide a safe, confidential and understanding place for veterinary professionals to turn to when things feel overwhelming, whether they’re struggling with work, personal circumstances, mental health or simply need someone who understands the unique pressures of the profession.

Seeing as it would appear my shins and pancreas arent quite built for marathon running, I've decided to show my support by launching myself over Twickenham stadium...

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Vetlife continue providing this vital support to the veterinary community!!

Thank you so much for your support! ☺️💕
