London Landmarks Half Marathon 2026 · 12 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Our aim is to preserve and protect good health of people suffering from Aspergillosis by: - • Raising awareness of aspergillosis and increase the understanding of the condition amongst medical professionals and the public at large; • Supporting sufferers globally by providing information and creating real and virtual support networks for sufferers of the most common forms of the disease; • Circulating up-to-date information about the condition with all forms of aspergillosis and help them understand the disease and treatments; • Raising funds for research, with the aim of making aspergillosis far more readily recognisable than at present; • Via joint initiatives, educate healthcare professionals of the symptoms and treatment of aspergillosis as it is often missed and can take years to reach the correct diagnosis; and • Represent aspergillosis patients in wider lung health networks.

Story

In April 2026, I will be taking on the huge challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for a special cause. I know I swore blind I would 'NEVER DO ANOTHER HALF MARATHON' but the opportunity to do this one and raise funds for such a great cause was too good to miss. Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.

Aspergillosis is a serious disease caused by Aspergillus, a common mould found in the environment that we all breathe in every day. For people with lung disease or weakened immune systems, it can lead to chronic and sometimes life-threatening infections. Despite affecting millions of people worldwide, aspergillosis remains poorly understood and many patients struggle to find information and support. Funds raised have already helped us create practical resources for patients and families, including translating educational leaflets into more than 30 languages so people across the world can access reliable information, and developing a children’s book to help families explain the illness to young people.

This year, fundraising will also help us to create an awareness video to educate the public about this often hidden lung disease and ensure more people recognise the signs, seek help earlier, and feel less alone.

Donations help us continue raising awareness, improving patient support, and ensuring no one facing aspergillosis feels alone.
