In 2020 our beautiful daughter Chloe was diagnosed with a brain tumour at 3 years old. During such an unimaginable time our whole world seemed to stop. Having a charity like The Owen McVeigh Foundation there to help is something we are truly grateful for. They help families like us who have children suffering with cancer in the Merseyside area by providing unique experiences and memories.

Since Chloe’s diagnosis she has endured 4 brain surgeries, 2 blood transfusions and 3.5 years of chemotherapy in total and has just recently completed 6 weeks of proton beam therapy. Chloe has not only overcome every hurdle but she has done it with a huge smile on her face.

The Foundation have provided some amazing opportunities for us as a family which has really taken our minds off things. Chloe struggles to remember certain things but to this day often the first thing she tells new people she meets is that she went to the ‘real’ Taylor Swift concert and that she was a mascot for Liverpool Football Club. Others include the Dua Lipa concert, pantomimes, theatre trips, Christmas events as well as a holiday at The Peacock Lodge along with many more. These memories are priceless and ones we treasure. We think of the Foundation as family. It’s a club that unfortunately no one wants to be in but when you are in it there is something truly magical about it.

We have decided to take on the National 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for this amazing charity. Please help us support children suffering from cancer in the Merseyside area.
