Story
Hello everyone,
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Paul, I’m 15 years old, and over the past five years I’ve raised more than £5,000 for different charities by organising both online and live piano concerts. This year, I’m asking for your support once again as I take on “Double Treble – Keys for Canines” alongside my sister Margot in aid of The Christie Charity. This year, the charity will train emotional support dogs, who provide comfort, companionship and reassurance to patients going through treatment. These specially trained dogs can make an incredible difference, reducing anxiety, lifting spirits and bringing moments of calm during very difficult times. Knowing that our fundraising can help support something so special makes this year even more meaningful
Between now and Easter, Margot and I will be learning and performing a range of piano pieces for patients receiving treatment at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and for their families. We also have some exciting additional events and activities planned to help us raise as much as possible.
This year is especially important to me. It will be my final year fundraising for The Christie while I’m at St Thomas More, and I want to make it our biggest and best yet. I’m setting myself a larger target of £1,000, and with it being my last year before Margot takes over independently, we’re determined to make a real impact together. I would love your support . Whether that’s £10 or whatever you’re able to give, to encourage us as we work towards this goal.
The Christie Charity is very close to my heart. My Pops receives revolutionary treatment there for chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, treatment that until recently was only available in America. The Christie was one of the first hospitals in the UK to offer this medication, and it is making a real difference to patients and families like mine.
I’m currently in Year 11 at St Thomas More High School, where I was recently appointed Deputy Head Boy. Since my last fundraiser, I’ve completed my Gold Faith in Action Award and my Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award. Alongside preparing for my GCSEs, I’m also working towards my Grade 5 Piano and Music Theory exams, so there’s lots of practice happening in between revision! Many other students and teachers at my school are also raising money for The Christie during Lent with their own fantastic ideas, and it’s inspiring to be part of such a supportive community.
This year is about finishing strong, setting a bigger target, and making it a truly memorable final fundraiser before Margot continues the journey next year. Together, we hope to create something special and raise vital funds for a charity that saves lives every single day.
Thank you so much for your support and encouragement.
