Our son, Nate, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at just 6 years old. He receives incredible care and support from the Paediatric Diabetes Team at the James Paget Hospital. Since his diagnosis, Nate has been a true warrior. Type 1 diabetes is a relentless condition that never takes a break – it requires constant monitoring and decision-making 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Despite the challenges it brings, Nate faces each day with courage, resilience and determination.

The doctors, nurses and wider team have helped Nate, our family and his school navigate life with diabetes, and we are so grateful for everything they do. To say thank you and help support other children and families, Nate has decided to raise money for the department that helps to look after him.

With the support of his school, Nate and his fellow pupils will be taking part in a sponsored walk to raise funds. Every donation, no matter how small, will help support the fantastic work of the Paediatric Diabetes Team and make a difference to children living with Type 1 Diabetes.
