I take part in the kilt walk most years, but this year I am doing it for my son and the people of, Aberdeen who have suffered traumatic burns or skin grafts that need specialist surgery. Aberdeen do not have the equipment to carry out the Laser Surgery required to help the healing of skin grafts and scars. The Children must travel to Glasgow for this specialised treatment. Aberdeen is considered a major trauma centre for the Northeast, Moray and the Islands, so I am hoping to be able to raise as much as I can to support the purchase of the equipment or similar kit for the Northeast, if it is decided that the NHS will not be able to support this purchase my fundraising will be used within the hospital and the burns unit. My son is currently undergoing these surgeries at present they are every eight weeks; we have had three already but will need at least another three, the next one in April. So even if it does not benefit us directly it could help so many more families in the future. Please give as much or as little as you can! Share this page or join the laser ladies!
