Story
I’m swimming 15km or 9.375miles in Victoria Dock this Saturday. This will be my furthest EVER swim and is considered the Ultra Marathon of the swimming world! I’ll hopefully complete in six ish hours. It’s a long time to be in the water with sensory deprivation and your own thoughts!
My Dad sadly died from Motor Neurones Disease on the 23rd of February, he was quietly accepting of his diagnosis and took it with courage and dignity. I on the other hand was furious upon being told there was no treatment! In fact it’s a slow process to diagnose. Watching my Dad decline from an active adventurous chap to confinement, loosing his mobility and his speech before the end was heartbreaking. If my efforts can inspire you to donate a few quid then myself and the family would be sincerely grateful for your support, hopefully research and progress in medicine will spare future sufferers 💙🧡💙🧡
