So here I am again….taking part in another tough challenge to raise funds for a fantastic hospital Alder Hey Children’s Hospital - The Yorkshire three peaks on May 4th 2024 ❤️

As many know we have spent a lot of time over the past 12 years in and out of Alder Hey with my son Theo. Theo is now 12, he received his kidney transplant in 2016.

Most recently Theo was required to stay in Alder Hey twice at the start of this year, where he was admitted due to his Kidney declining and requiring a biopsy. Thankfully his kidney wasn’t going into rejection, but sadly there is some long term damage (which I have been told can happen with transplants) and unfortunately they don’t last forever.

We are now in year 8 of theos transplant and the doctors at Alder Hey are planning on keeping a close eye on things and managing theos care to enable the transplant to last as long as they possibly can. Generally they would hope to get 15 years out of a transplanted kidney.

As always, I am forever grateful for Theo receiving the absolute BEST care at Alder Hey, the fantastic nurses who are always so caring and all of the support he receives from ever member of staff he comes across.

Raising funds for Alder Hey, means they can continue to make it that little bit more special for the children in their care ❤️

Last year I completed the National three peaks, which was TOUGH. But every step I took, I kept remembering my reason WHY I signed up for the challenge. So this time I will do the same, and again I hope to complete it 🙌🏻
