Story

Update - I did it, in 8 hours and 11 minutes.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored and sent kind words, it's very much appreciated. Every penny really will make a huge difference to our amazing pan-disability club and players and families that we support.

Also a big thanks to all the doctors, plastic surgeons and the prosthesis department for their help in getting me to where I am today and ready and able to take part in this challenge.

I've updated the gallery above with some photos from the day. Thanks all

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As most of you know, I love this club (I might have mentioned it once or twice!) and I want to give something back.

As a volunteer, I am the Treasury, Adult Welfare Officer and a Coach.

Watching the young people grow in confidence, build social skills and make friends whilst playing a sport they love is a pleasure to see and to have a small hand in delivering that, makes me very proud.

This Leicestershire 3 peaks challenge is also a huge challenge for myself. After some health issues at the end of 2023, it has been difficult to exercise and even walking was a challenge in the first few month's. Therefore, I'm proud (and a little nervous) to be pushing myself to take part in this challenge - just please don't ask me to move on Monday 9th June!

About the club:

Blaby & District Spartans is a charity run pan-disability football club for children aged 5-16 years and adults.

Based in South Leicester, we hold our training sessions at Countesthorpe Academy. We welcome players from the surrounding areas and pride ourselves on being an inclusive football club, embracing individuals with various disabilities.

2024 saw us become a registered charity to aid us in growing our club, whilst we continue to support players in enjoying, participating and flourishing in football, within a fun, friendly and safe environment.

As a proud affiliate of the Leicestershire FA, our mixed-gender Youth & Youth & Adult teams compete in the East Midlands Pan-Disability League

Our adult walking football sections is also growing, giving players a recreational fun environment.

2025 saw us start running our SEN multi sport holiday clubs where we are able to access and support more children, giving them the opportunity to make more friends and try new sports.
