Leap of Love is Sands' Skydive. Hundreds of brave #SandsSuperstars will take to the skies to save babies' lives in 2023. They'll help us fund vital research and support those affected by the death of a baby.

Story

I am raising money for this charity because my baby nephew Elliott sadly died. He was diagnosed with a medical condition called PUVs (Posterior Urethra Valve syndrome) at 20 weeks, after numerous tests, his kidney diagnosis was 5% on just one kidney. Unfortunately, the other kidney had no function. He had no amniotic fluid to gain muscle strength. The pregnancy was medically terminated at 24+5, so my sister in law and brother could have time with him.

If he was alive today, he would have been 10 years old in May. Heaven has well and truly gained an angel 👼🏾. A sky dive is nothing compared to what parents have to go through when they lose a baby.

Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, operates across the UK: supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby; working in partnership with health professionals to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care; and promoting improvements in practice and funding research that could help to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.

The last sky dive I did was in 2016 in Australia, and the instructor kept telling me his drunk and had narcolepsy. I am praying for the instructor to be nicer to me this time…
