Nicola's fundraiser for Blood Cancer UK

Nicola Tiernan is raising money for Blood Cancer UK
We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

In January 2022, our world changed forever when my daughter Phoebe, at the age of 21, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. From the outset, despite the devastating diagnosis and as a result of the advances in treatment, we had cautious hope of Phoebe making a full recovery. Having undergone intensive chemotherapy, Phoebe is currently doing well and we give thanks for that everyday.

Thirty years ago, her prognosis would have been very different, and the chances of her being here today would have been slim. Every 14 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with blood cancer. Blood Cancer UK funds critical research, provides essential support and information, and raises awareness—and we have personally felt the impact of their work. This research and support ,however, comes at a price. Blood Cancer UK have spent £500 million on research, and there is still work to be done.

If you’re able to donate or are considering a charity to support, please consider Blood Cancer UK. Your contribution goes directly toward funding the research and support that bring hope to families like ours every day. Thank you for making a difference
