Story
Hello everyone…
So… on 12th April, I, Nicola Wall — the woman who has proudly avoided running unless late for a train — will be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Guy’s & St Thomas’ Charity. Yes, you heard that correctly: I’m running. On purpose. For 13.1 miles. Please hold your applause (and your giggles) but send energy gels and prayers 😁
Most of you know that 2025 turned our world upside down when my husband Sean needed life‑saving heart surgery. It was genuinely one of the scariest experiences of our lives. But thanks to the unbelievable care, skill, and kindness of the NHS — especially the absolute superheroes at St Thomas’ — he’s here, recovered almost, and very much alive and probably thinking that my running style looks like “a determined goose” - he wouldn't be wrong 😁 🪿
Seeing Sean literally get a second chance at life made me want to do something — something meaningful for the NHS, and something big for myself. And since “run a half marathon” has been sitting on my bucket list gathering dust (right next to “learn to garden” and “become organised”), it felt like the right moment to finally go for it.
So here I am — training, sweating, questioning my sanity — and sharing my fundraising page. Any donation, whether it’s pennies, pounds, or the price of a posh coffee will make a massive difference.
Thank you so much in advance for anything you can give. Your support means the world — to me, to Sean, to our families and to the incredible NHS teams who quite literally saved his life.
Much love,
Nikki 💙🏃♀️
