Story
In July 2024, my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer aged 58. He had no symptoms and was only diagnosed after having his PSA levels checked as part of a blood test for a suspected blood clot.
He is now thankfully cancer free, but his experience has motivated me to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 12 April 2026 to raise awareness of the fact that 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime.
Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
I will be running on behalf of the charity Prost8, which was formed in 2019 to address the fact that far too many men are being overtreated for medium grade prostate cancer.
The charity was founded by Paul Sayer, a former patient at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust – the place where I work – and where, together with researchers at Imperial College London, we’re leading the biggest prostate cancer screening study in a generation, TRANSFORM.
I’m determined to raise as much as possible for such an important cause close to my heart 🏃♀️ 💙
