Nicole is Running the London Marathon for WellChild

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
This challenge feels extra special to me. In 2015, just 3 weeks before participating in the New York Marathon, I was running the Glasgow Half Marathon as part of my training. A few miles in my knee gave way and I was in excruciating pain. I had ruptured my ACL and my marathon dream was crushed upon arrival in A&E.
10 years later, and lots of work to build up my injured knee, I'm ready to make my marathon dream a reality. London is one of my favourite places and I can't wait to be part of such an incredible day in the city.
Coupled with the excitement of the event itself, I'll be hugely motivated knowing that my participation is raising money for an incredible cause. WellChild is the national UK children's charity making it possible for children and young people with exceptional health needs to be cared for at home instead of hospital, wherever possible. The work they do is truly exceptional and I couldn't be prouder that they selected me to be part of their team. You can read all about WellChild here - https://www.wellchild.org.uk/
