I wanted to use my birthday this year as a way of raising much-needed funds for a charity that has really melted my heart over the last year, with the many inspiring rescues they have undertaken.

You can see on their Facebook page or their website, some of the heartbreaking stories about donkeys, mules and horses they have rescued. They step in when no one else will, rescuing abandoned, starving beautiful animals from the streets, from slaughterhouses, and taking them in when they have been the victims of accidents on the roads and left for dead.

I'm donating my own birthday funds to help Jarjeer and it would absolutely make my whole year if anyone who might have sent me a birthday card, or bought me a glass of wine in the pub - donates a couple of pounds to this fundraiser instead. I know it's a difficult time for a lot of people at the moment, so I don't expect many can help - but if you can - I'd be so grateful.
