Story
Behçet’s took control of my life in 2021 and hospitalised me. It quickly became the biggest thing I’ve had to learn to live with. After intensive surgery and numerous rounds of trial medication, I’m now on lifelong immunotherapy and require constant check ups but I finally feel like I’m back in control. After overcoming one of the worst stages of my life I thought to myself, what could I do to represent the struggle I felt? Well, the largest obstacle in the UK would be a mountain, Ben Nevis to be exact. I was diagnosed late October 2021 and so on the anniversary of my diagnosis I’m going to trek up Big Ben in Scotland with a small team in aid of this wonderful charity that really did save my life. If it wasn’t for the wonderful doctors and research into this weird and rare condition I wouldn’t be here today.
