Story
On 5th September, my sister Nicole and I will be abseiling 100ft down the side of QMC Hospital to raise money for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
This cause is incredibly close to my heart.
My IVF miracle was born at just 26 weeks, arriving 14 weeks early and weighing only 2lbs. She was taken straight to the NICU and placed on breathing support.
She spent 12 weeks and 2 days on the unit, where she bravely fought sepsis and RSV and even needed a blood transfusion.
Every single member of staff on that unit was incredible. They helped save my daughter's life while also providing unwavering support to me and my husband during the most frightening time of our lives. They truly are heroes.
I can't put into words the physical and emotional pain of watching your daughter fight for her life, but the teams at both QMC and City Hospital were simply amazing. We genuinely don't know how we would have got through such a traumatic experience without them.
We will never be able to thank our NHS enough.
Nicole and I each have a minimum fundraising target of £175, so if you're able to donate, no matter how big or small, we would be so grateful.
Every penny will help support this incredible unit, which cares for tiny babies and their families every single day.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support. ❤️
