In February, my husband, Paul, was diagnosed with secondary AML. Our world changed overnight.

Over the following months, Paul spent a total of 12 weeks as an inpatient at King’s College Hospital, where he underwent two rounds of chemotherapy before receiving a life-saving allogeneic bone marrow transplant.

His donor was a 20-year-old young man from Germany—a complete stranger who made the selfless decision to join the donor register. Without his incredible gift, Paul simply would not be here today. We will be forever grateful for the second chance at life that he has given our family.

Throughout this journey, we have seen first hand the amazing work this organisation does to support patients and their families during the most challenging times of their lives. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment make an immeasurable difference.
