30 miles in 30 days

Merseyside Domestic Violence Services is a Voluntary run organisation based in Liverpool. We work with families affected by Domestic violence. Offering support, advice and educational programs aimed at breaking the cycle of abuse and aiding the recovery process. We're a grassroots charity, serving the most vulnerable families in Liverpool over the past two decades. Set up to safeguard women, children and young people through education, empowerment and prevention by tackling the root cause of the problem – we inform and innovate change. To create a unified service of support for families affected by domestic violence and abuse.

Story

We are a group of young people age ranged between 14-25 who volunteer our time to the LFC Foundation youth panel, we volunteer our time monthly to have our say on how we can plan to improve our community. We are aiming to raise money for our chosen charity Merseyside Domestic Violence Services.

Merseyside Domestic Violence Services exists to support women and girls affected by domestic violence and abuse. They are a voluntary organisation based in Liverpool, offering support, advice and educational programmes aimed at breaking the cycle of abuse and aiding recovery.

Around 30% of women in Liverpool experience domestic abuse which equates to about 75,000 women per year this is as of January 2023.

We have the aim of ‘walking a mile in their shoes’ to walk 30 miles each between us over the length of November to cover the percentage of documented domestic abuse in our city.
