Corina's Story
On the 18th October 2022 my only cousin Corina Marie Thompson passed away in her sleep, caused by a cardiac arrest stemming from a genetic heart problem. My cousin was only 22 years of age when she passed away and soon to be 23. Corina was a beautiful, kind hearted and loving young woman, and me and all of her family & friends miss her everyday.
Corina, me, and all those close to her were completely unaware that Corina was suffering with a genetic heart condition as she seemed to be fit, young and healthy, and when she went to the doctors to tell them she had been experiencing heart palpations they put it down to stress and anxiety.
Therefore, I will be doing a skydive in September in memory of Corina, alongside my Auntie (Corina's mum, Lyndsey Sorrenson) & her friend Mia Mayo to try and raise awareness around cardiac risk in the young and to prevent anymore young people from being taken away from their family and friends too soon.
Even the smallest donation would go a long way, so please if you could take the time to donate I would really appreciate it, Thankyou.
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions.
With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young.
By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions.
