Story
I am raising money for a great charity, Barnado’s.
The London Marathon has been on my bucket list for many years, and now that I have been given this opportunity Barnardo’s was the charity for me.
I am a secondary school teacher and therefore children are a huge priority in my day to day life. I work closely with many children every single day, supporting them academically but also with their wellbeing.
When choosing a charity I wanted one that I resonated with, Barnardo’s supports children every day giving them so many opportunities to live the life that they truly deserve.
To make a child feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful by running over 800 specialist services across the UK. It is so important that this charity gets all the donations possible to keep this going to change childhoods. From children in care, to helping with setting children up for their future careers, to LGBTQ+ support. Barnardo’s really does offer a range of support for all children.
With so much advice and help on offer it is so important to give back to a charity that is so impactful and one that is needed to improve the future of the future generations.
From somebody who works closely with children, I, myself can see the impact this charity can and does have on the younger generations. It really does change lives.
If by running the London Marathon and raising money for this charity can help just a few children to feel happy and as though they belong, I think that is more than worth the training and pain of running 26.2 miles.
Wish me luck, and please help me to raise as much money as possible for such an outstanding charity.
Thank you
Nicole
