The Gaza Lifeline Drinking Water Project
I am Nicolette Burford de Oliveira from London, retired after a career in international development focused on community natural resource management. I have chosen to raise funds for the Gaza Lifeline Drinking Water Distribution Project, now operating under the International Children’s Trust (ICT).
I have been in daily communication with the Gaza Lifeline team since November 2023 and have witnessed their extraordinary dedication and courage working under unimaginable danger. I am especially proud of their locally led initiative in Deir al-Balah, where they organise and deliver clean drinking water to displaced families living in tents.
This project is not just about water — it’s about restoring dignity and survival. Most families in Gaza have lost everything and struggle with thirst, disease, and malnutrition, especially children who are at high risk of dysentery, hepatitis, and infections.
Our current goals:
1. Deliver at least 4,000 litres of clean water daily — aiming to reach 8,000 litres soon.
2. Distribute essential hygiene supplies, including purification tablets, rehydration sachets, soap, sanitary pads, diapers, and bandages, along with health advice.
Clean water is the difference between life and death.
The ICT has kindly welcomed this community-led effort into its organisation, making it possible to resume regular water distribution legally and sustainably.
