Story
This March I'll be taking part in Go Yellow! to raise awareness and raise much needed funds to support the 1in10 women with endometriosis.
Endometriosis is a chronic pain condition that affects so many women across the world. Those suffering with condition are often faced with making challenging and difficult decisions during diagnosis, treatment and management of endometriosis.
Endometriosis UK exists to offer support and reliable information as well as fight and campaign for change and better treatment options.
My Personal Story
I am aged 42, born and bred in Bill Quay, Gateshead, I have always been described as a social butterfly, loving travel, dancing, yoga and mindfulness.
Behind my vibrant exterior, I have struggled with the debilitating symptoms of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis, what I now refer to as the two ugly sisters!
These conditions have changed my life, severe pain, heavy periods and fatigue. It has taken the doctors and gynaecologists years to diagnose.
My journey has also been marked by loss, grief and frustration. I miscarried my first pregnancy whilst living and working out in New Zealand but there was no link to either of my conditions back then when I was aged 34. I have struggled to conceive again. I hope and pray for a cure that doesn't inhibit fertility or strip us females from our womanhood.
I will be delivering an online meditation session on zoom on Tuesday 19 March, where I hope many will join, no matter their story or background, whether diagnosed or whether they know someone who needs help. All the money raised at this class will go towards my fundraiser.
