Story

We have set up this page to commemorate Nigel Dun, who sadly passed away on Tuesday 23rd April 2024.

He was surrounded by his family and friends in the last few weeks of his life; listening to his favourite music and singing to us and the ward, as often as he could. The care that he received at Bedford Hospital was exceptional and we thank all the staff there, from the bottom of our hearts.

The local community will know our Dad from either his time teaching at Stratton School, playing for the Rugby Club or for his frequenting of the local pubs and coffee shops. If there was live music or cheap (good) beer or coffee, then Dad was there! We know that the community in Biggleswade kept a look out for him and we are so grateful for this. It meant that he could lead the most independent life that he could. It was a life that he led with pure grit and determination. And one full of love.

Headway Charity have been an amazing support since his motorbike accident in 1988. They do amazing work for people with acquired brain injuries and their families. Thank you for reading and/or donating and for joining us to raise a glass to this extraordinary man.
