Story
I managed to get round the Great North Run on Sunday — 2 hours 16 minutes in that ridiculous heat on the North East coast. Not my fastest, but I’m proud I got it done.
I’m hoping to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity, which means a great deal to me.
Rachel, a dear friend of Molly’s (my daughter), died from a brain tumour at the tragically young age of 27. I met Rachel several times — she was athletic, full of life, and always pushing herself, doing triathlons, swims, and even taking on a half Ironman! Losing someone so vibrant and so young is devastating, and we desperately need better treatments and, ultimately, a cure for this horrific illness.
If you can spare even a couple of quid, all the training, the early mornings, the sore legs — and yes, the black toes — will have been doubly worth it.
Thank you so much for your support

Looking fresh at 1 mile in at this point, on the iconic Tyne Bridge, just 12 miles to go (all uphill or so it seemed!!)
