Story
Nigel’s Running for Life After Lary.
on the 12th April 2026, Nigel will take on The Maverick Brighton Trail Marathon — the UK’s first-ever off-road trail marathon — to raise awareness and vital funds for Life After Lary, a new UK charity supporting people affected by laryngeal cancer and total laryngectomy. Life After Lary was founded to empower patients and carers with up-to-date information, peer support, and advocacy for better standards of care and quality of life after cancer treatment.
Life After Lary
Nigel’s journey hasn’t been about miles — it’s been about meaning. From someone who never considered himself a runner — before or after cancer — he’s transformed grit and determination into purpose. Every kilometre he trains and runs stands for the resilience of those whose voices and lives have been changed forever.
This challenge isn’t just a marathon. It’s a movement — driving visibility, dignity, and systemic change for people with throat cancer and those facing life after a laryngectomy. Your support fuels awareness, practical resources, and hope.
