In August this year, I will be travelling with a small group of volunteers to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Here I will work closely with Hanna Orphan's Home (HOH), a community-based organisation devoted to raising vulnerable children who have tragically lost their parents to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. I will be teaching and working with the children for 2 weeks. In doing so, I hope to play a part (no matter how small) in helping the children of HOH to overcome their inherited misfortunes and lead successful lives.

Ahead of this trip, I am tasked with raising funds for HOH.

Any donations made will go 100% to HOH and will be used to support the provision of basic necessities such as food, clothing, medicine, and educational facilities, as well as to support the continual expansion of the orphanage. In doing so we can help to encourage the safe harbour and loving upbringing of these marginalised children. Any support you can offer is very much appreciated 🥰

About Hanna Orphan's Home...

HOH cares for and supports over 250 children from preschool to university students. It has a community-based housing model, groups of around 6, providing shelter and protection for the most vulnerable. It provides food, clothing, medical treatment, education, and counselling. It not only supports orphaned children, but the wider community, including alumni (children who have grown up in the orphanage and are now going to university), the elderly, widows, and mothers in the community.

About Helping Hannas Community...

Helping Hannas Community (HHC) is a UK-based volunteer-led charity dedicated to supporting HOH. They work hard to provide any supplies that the orphanage needs and raise funds to support them. It is a charity purely run by volunteers so you can always be told exactly where your money has been spent!

Every year HHC funds student volunteers from my school (Bayes Business School) to visit Ethiopia and work with the children of HOH. This year I am lucky enough to be one of these volunteers.
