Story
On 5 October 2025, I will take on Stride for Cancer Care – a 25km stride that will be the most physically challenging thing I have ever done. But the real challenge is something I have carried for 20 years.
This date marks two decades (20 years) since I lost my dad. Twenty years since I last heard his voice, felt his presence, and had him here with me. Grief doesn’t fade; it just changes shape. And while time has moved forward, the pain of losing him to cancer never lessens.
Cancer stole my dad, just like it has stolen so many loved ones from others. That’s why I am doing this, not just in his memory, but for every family who has had to say goodbye too soon. I want to raise funds that will help provide care, support, and, one day, a cure.
To honour my dad at this heartbreaking milestone, I am setting a fundraising target of £1,946 which resonates to his birth year as 1946. Every single donation, big or small, means the world to me.
This stride will test me in ways I have never been tested before, but with your support, I know I can do it. Please help me reach this goal, walk in my dad’s memory, and make a difference for those still fighting.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
"Jazakallah khair" - may God reward you with goodness
Warm regards
N
