Story

This swim is in memory of my late mother, Pushpaben Chandrakant Lakhani, and in support of the incredible work of Macmillan Cancer Support.
My mum was a kind, strong and caring person who meant the world to our family. This challenge is a small way for me to honour her memory while raising funds for a charity that helps so many people during one of the hardest times in their lives.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides vital care, guidance and compassion to people living with cancer, as well as to the families supporting them. Their work makes a real difference when people need it most.
Between 22 March and 22 June, I’ll be swimming a minimum of 11 miles in my local pool.
I’m starting from scratch, so every length will be earned the hard way — but it’s nothing compared to the challenges faced by people going through cancer treatment.
If you’re able to sponsor a few lengths, it would mean a great deal. Every donation helps Macmillan continue supporting people and families who need it most.
Thank you for helping me honour my mum’s memory.
And if your donation helps make sure I keep turning up to the pool… even better.
