For one night, Francis Osei-Appiah (Kent Ambassador) and Nik Marinov (Director of Finance and Performance at RBLI) will sleep in a shelter under the stars, regardless of the weather, on Thursday, 27th March 2025, at The Trenches in Detling Showground, replicating the experience many of our nation's heroes endure nightly.
Currently, in the UK, veterans experiencing homelessness. During the winter months, Royal Legion Industries (RBLI) always see an increased number of veterans arriving at their door needing support after experiencing extreme weather conditions, poor mental health, hunger, and cold.
At RBLI they support over 340 veterans and their families, including those facing homelessness, young veteran, and older veterans health conditions, and they are home to the Tommy. They continue to provide an emergency accommodation, essential toiletries, clothing, comprehensive mental health and employment support. RBLI aim and objective is to be a lifeline, preserving the well-being and dignity of these individuals and their families.
