Story
I am running my second Ultra in June 2025 because I loved the first one, and I am just a little mad! I am also running the Shakespeare Marathon (as a training run with bling!) on 27th April.
My lovely Dad died in 2021 with dementia. It’s such a cruel disease which robs people of their independence and vitality, and means those who love them slowly watch them slipping away. So I am running this for him. I did the London Marathon (my first) the week before he died, and he got to see my medal and my happy smile, and had a few moments when he was able to share that joy, a memory I treasure.
Every 3 minutes dementia steals a happily ever after. Research is our only chance of changing the ending for people affected by dementia.
We are the UK's leading dementia research charity. We exist for a cure.
Your donation helps our scientists and researchers find new ways to diagnose dementia, develop new treatments and find a cure for dementia.
