Nikki's Indian Himalayan Trek for Little Harbour

Himalayan Trek 2026 · 3 October 2026
Turning 50 with an epic challenge in the Indian Himalayas—raising funds for Children's Hospice South West.
Next year, I hit a milestone, 50 years (!!) and I wanted to celebrate in a way that truly pushes me, both physically and mentally. So, in true “go big or go home” fashion, I’ve decided to take on an incredible four-day trek through the Indian Himalayas in October 2026.
Now, if you know me, you know I’m not exactly the fittest person around. I’ve never been the one sprinting to the top of the hill, and this trek is going to test me in ways I can’t even fully imagine yet. I’ll be walking for 6-8 hours a day, tackling steep inclines and reaching altitudes of 2875m, it’s going to be hard, really hard. But that’s exactly why I’m doing it. This journey is about proving to myself that I can take on something huge, stepping outside my comfort zone and pushing through the challenges along the way.
Starting in Dharamshala, the home of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan Government in exile, I will trek deep into the breathtaking Lesser Himalayan range, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, lush green forests, and remote mountain villages.
But this isn’t just a personal challenge, it’s also my chance to give back to a cause incredibly close to my heart. I’m raising funds for Children’s Hospice South West, where I have the privilege of working at Little Harbour. Having seen firsthand the extraordinary care and love extended to every individual who walks through our doors, I can honestly say that Little Harbour is a place like no other. It’s a privilege to play even a small part in the vital work we do, helping families find strength, comfort, and moments of joy when they need it most.
Every step I take on this trek will be in honour of the amazing children, families, staff and volunteers who make Children's Hospice South West such a special place. If you’d like to support me, please consider donating. Your generosity will help Children's Hospice South West continue their life changing work, making a real difference when it’s needed most
Let’s make this 50th birthday count—thank you for being part of it 😊
