I have been given an amazing opportunity with my run club, Rep Runners to run the TCS London Marathon 2025. A club that has a place for runners of all abilities.

In return I would like my efforts to help change the life of abandoned girls, and raise money for Unique Home.

Unique Home Orphanage was founded in May 1993. At Unique Home, unwanted children, almost always girls, are saved from death and homed, educated and raised with love by the orphanage. Children that are abandoned, left in the cradle at the front of the orphanage, found in the street and even partially buried, are given life, not seen as inferior and have a chance to build a future.

The orphanage is an amazing place that nurtures infants into adulthood without any distinction to caste, creed, or religion.

As the proud mother of daughters I raise them to feel valued, to be strong and with love and yet I am acutely aware that daughters are still considered a burden in many places.

Unique home was started by an inspirational woman, Bibi Parkash Kaur, who I had the privilege to meet. Her energy and commitment to 'her daughters' is unwavering and she shared stories of the heart breaking starts the girls have, to the uplifting outcomes as they become strong independent women living across the world.
