Story
Nikki, Renée, Melody and all our little ones are proud to be celebrating World Down Syndrome Day on 21st March 2026.
The date 3/21 symbolises the three copies of the 21st chromosome that are present in people with Down syndrome.
To mark the occasion, we will be taking part in a sponsored 21-minute toddle/crawl to raise awareness and funds for Downright Perfect — a wonderful local charity that supports two of our children, their families, and many other families across Dorset.
We’ll also be Rocking Our Socks all week (beginning 16th March).
Wearing odd or funky socks represents Trisomy 21 — the triplication of the 21st chromosome — as chromosomes under a microscope look like pairs of socks.
Mismatched socks celebrate the beauty of individuality, and by wearing them we show that although we may look different, we are far more alike than we are different.
If you would like to support us, we would be incredibly grateful for any sponsorship or donation, no matter how big or small.
