Every day police officers are suffering injuries and illnesses that have an impact on their work to protect local communities. The Police Treatment Centres is a registered charity which provides vital treatment and support to help these officers return to better health and get back to work sooner.

Story

My 12-year-old son Aaron is a keen runner and is going to be taking part in a number of 5k running events in order to raise money for The Police Treatment Centres. These events include the Wythenshawe Games 5k Run (July), Run Media City 5k (August), Run Tatton Park 5k (Sept), Run Oulton Park 5k (Nov), Tatton 5k Santa Run (Dec) and Wythenshawe Games Santa Run (Dec).

During March 2012, whilst a serving police officer in Greater Manchester Police (GMP), I randomly suffered from some kind of neurological episode, which has caused me to lose the use of my left leg. This has left me permanently disabled and unable to walk unaided. As a result of this, I have had several residential stays for treatment at The Police Treatment Centre in Harrogate. It is an amazing place, yet costly to run. Aaron would now like to use his running talents to raise money for the two centres, so that other sick and injured police officers and staff can receive the treatment and care they need. Please help him to raise some money!
