Story
It’s that time of year again, my annual excuse to combine keeping fit with raising money for an incredible cause.
This year I’m taking on the RISE 8K Undercliff Run for Women 2026 to raise money for RISE, a brilliant Brighton charity supporting women, children and families affected by domestic abuse.
After completing the 10K last year, I’m back for another challenge. It’s become a bit of an annual tradition for me, a great way to stay motivated, keep moving, and support a cause that does genuinely life-changing work.
Fitting in training is always interesting with a 2 and 4 year old at home (turns out small children don’t really respect a running schedule), but having something meaningful to work towards definitely helps get me out the door.
RISE provides vital services including refuge accommodation, crisis support, specialist advocacy, therapeutic programmes and community initiatives that help people find safety, rebuild confidence and regain independence after domestic abuse.
The work they do is absolutely essential, and every donation helps keep these services running, from staffed refuges and open support lines to specialist help for those who need it most.
So if you’re able to, please stick your hand in your pocket and sponsor me. Whether it’s the cost of a coffee or something more, every donation makes a real difference.
You’ll be supporting an amazing cause — and giving me that extra bit of motivation when my legs start complaining.
Thank you so much for your support.
