Hi, I'm Nivaa. With my family (including our dog Nala), I will be taking part in the Go The Extra Mile London Walk 2024 in support of my sister, Varshi who was diagnosed with Juvenile SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus) in November 2020 at the age of 15.

Lupus is a rare and complex autoimmune disease which affects millions worldwide, including my amazing sister. Its unpredictable nature can bring a myriad of symptoms, from debilitating fatigue to painful joint inflammation, making it incredibly difficult to pinpoint a diagnosis and get the help you need.

Witnessing my sister's journey with Lupus has been painful, challenging and inspiring and we couldn't be prouder of her. Despite all that she has to deal with, she never fails to put a smile on the faces of everyone around her and inspire us all with her perseverance and mental fortitude. Although her journey has been fraught with adversity, amidst the struggles, organizations like Lupus UK stand as beacons of hope. Their tireless efforts in education, treatment, and community support provide invaluable resources to those battling Lupus. We walk not just for awareness, but to raise vital funds, ensuring that Lupus UK can continue their incredible work.
