Story

Members of Newton-le-Willows Ladies Softball Cricket Team, are raising money for Alder Hey, by challenging ourselves to a 16 mile sponsored walk this Saturday 20th July, from Old Trafford Cricket Ground back to Newton Cricket Club. Two of our 'super strong' lovely ladies, Rach and Gill, have gone through and still going through, an unimaginable loss. Eve🩷 and Sam 🩵have spread their 'angel wings' and we would like to celebrate their lives and honour their memory.

🩷 Eve bravely battled neuroblastoma for 5 years. She is remembered by friends and family for her beautiful smile, as she faced everything in her short life with courage, her smile ever present. Eve loved learning in the classroom at Alder Hey, and would spend all day in there if we had let her! Eve sadly passed away in 2013, just before her 10th birthday, but is remembered by everyone who knew her, and even people who didn't, for her positivity and bravery through adversity.

🩵Alder Hey was more than somewhere Sam had treatment, it was where he had to live, do his school work, celebrate his Birthday and Christmas. The charity supports all of this. Unfortunately Sam's leukaemia was very aggressive and we lost our beautiful boy last year. He was 15. He was positive and courageous throughout. He was the best of us.
