Noah and Georgie’s Marathon for Fitzy

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Sam enjoyed both the ordinary and extraordinary aspects of life, thinking deeply and intentionally about the big things while getting so much joy from the small things.
He loved mugs of Yorkshire Tea, pints of Doombar in the pub, Sainsburys’ finest trifles, steak and ale pies, stubborn debates, hard fought rugby matches, adventurous travels to Nepal and Calais amongst other places, and growing his beloved algae.
Above all, even during the most challenging days of his illness, Sam continued to value what he cherished as most precious in life- his family, friends, and making people smile.
Sam confronted his cancer with great dignity and immense strength of spirit. It is a testament to Sam and his family the wonderful memories we continued to have whilst Sam was ill - Dom, Cath, and Rachel generously welcomed us into their home and we had some of the best years of our lives with Sam. He always made us laugh, and in true character Sam supported us, not the other way round.
From mischievous nights out to long stints in the library, to ultimately growing up together, Sam was a true friend and we miss him dearly.
We will always carry him with us in everything we do, and are running the 2025 London Marathon for Fitzy’s Fund in his memory to help raise vital funds for life-saving research into Ewing Sarcoma.
