Noah's 2026 London Marathon and 600 miles for Myositis UK

Noah Sims is raising money for Myositis UK

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Myositis UK raises funds to promote medical research and improve diagnosis, treatment, management and understanding of Myositis including: Dermatomyositis, Polymyositis, Inclusion Body Myositis, Antisynthetase Syndrome, Necrotising Myositis (Myopathy) and Juvenile Dermatomyositis.

Story

In April 2026, I will be running the London Marathon for Myositis UK.

Myositis is a degenerative muscular condition which causes muscle inflammation and wasting, affecting muscle weakness, swallowing and respiratory functions. Myositis UK is a charity committed to providing information to those affected by the Myositis and funding research to improve diagnosis and treatment .

Mum was diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis just under a year ago after lots of back and forth about what it may have been.

I am definitely not a natural runner, something I am sure I will be reminded about constantly over the next months of training, but that is far from the point.

My aim is to run 601 miles between Mum’s diagnosis date, the 15th October and the London Marathon on the 26th April next year. 601 miles is a mile for every muscle in the human body, plus one for the heart which only seems to kind of count.

I will be doing a series of challenges along the way to raise money, as well as hopefully some events, like quiz nights.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated as it is a cause that I care deeply about.

Thanks
