Noah’s World Cup Challenge

Rachael Kerr is raising money for Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity

Noah’s World Cup Challenge

Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity believes no child should face hospital alone. Every day, 500 seriously ill children face a life-changing hospital visit. Children tell us it can be frightening. Parents say they're sick with worry. We want to change this. With your support, we can. Are you in?

Story

Hi, I’m Noah, an 8 year old boy who eat sleeps and breathes football.

I was born 9 weeks early with a condition called Tracheosophegel Fistula - TOF for short. To any normal person that has no idea what that means, basically my oesophagus wasn’t connected to my tummy so I couldn’t swallow. I received emergency surgery at less than 24 hours old where the incredible surgeon, Mr Hammond fixed me. I then spent 3 months in neonatal, shortly after my discharge I ended up in the Sick kids. Where I was in and out continuously for the first 3 years. Thankfully things have calmed down for me, I’m a regular visitor and love attending at the hospital.

The friendly faces at the hub always help! I love visiting the hub for any stays I have, or outpatient appointments. The charity are amazing, they help children like me every single day. So I’m doing this challenge to support them.

My challenge has came around an idea from my Granny. She volunteers at the charity twice every week, how cool is she!!

Scotland were last in a World Cup 28 years ago, my parents were only 5! So my challenge is going to be attending 28 different Scottish football stadiums to score 5 penalties in to each one, hoping to complete this from now until when the World Cup starts. Please help to support me.

My goal (see what I done there) is to raise £2,828.28. Please help me smash this!
