Each and every day across Ireland’s Children Health Foundation hospitals with care centers in Connolly, Crumlin, Tallaght and Temple Street - sick children and their worried parents are coming through the doors in need of world-class pediatric care and treatment.

I am hoping you maybe able to sponsor me for something that very close to my Son Mark’s and My 'Heart’!!!! I have opened this 'Just Giving Page' as I am running the Dublin City Marathon in Oct on behalf of Children Health Foundation, with all funds raised being assigned specifically to the Crumlin Heart Centre.

The reason I choose the Crumlin Heart Centre - In 2014, Mark was unexpectedly admitted at 10 days old as a very sick patient to the Crumlin Heart Centre where he subsequently received a Life Saving Heart Operation and received unbelievable care by their extraordinary staff for the next 6 weeks. Through the gifted work of the Crumlin Heart Centre team, Mark is now a healthy and amazing 10 year old boy.

I always said I would like to repay Crumlin Hospital in some small way for their work...so after Mark’s 10th Birthday I plan to run the Dublin City Marathon on the 27 October 2024 on behalf of the Children Health Foundation with all money raised being directed to the Crumlin Heart Centre. ALL money which is collected, will go to the wards, theatres, departments and Intensive Care Units within the Crumlin Heart Centre.

This funding I hope will support in some small way to possibly purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment; support funding of new services; redevelopment of facilities to supporting ground-breaking paediatric research or provide support to patients and families through play, music and pet therapy within the Crumlin Heart Centre. I am hoping you can support by sponsoring me with my run which will help fund this essential and life-saving work thus making a real and lasting difference in the lives of sick children – and there are some very sick children in the Crumlin Heart Centre unfortunately 😢😢
