A little background. I am not a long distance runner. At all. I am barely a runner. More of a plodder. Anyway, in 2024, I completed my first, and intention was, last marathon.

However only four days after completing I started to get the running bug again, and wanted to help support a charity who do amazing things. I started to speak with Pete, the CEO, of Epic Partners and he told me about all the amazing work they do in the local area. I offered (great idea, right?) to do my next one for his charity. Pete agreed.

So not content to put just me through the training journey my brother in law TJ had kindly agreed to join me. TJ has completed a half marathon, but I don’t think is fully aware of the effort that goes into the training. Now I would normally take great joy in watching him do silly things, but he is younger, fitter and probably just as silly as me to agree to this.

So together we are training from 6th Jan to race day on 25th May. This page is to document our journey, trials, tribulations and also your donations.

I would ask that everyone takes a read on what the charity does and how important it is especially in times of social and financial worries that we give young people the best chance, regardless of background, to fulfil their potential in life.
