Story
Our lovely late mother Noreila, qualified as a Pharmacist in 1960, so throughout her adult life knew the value and great importance of research done in order to create new medicines and treatments for all illnesses.
She has witnessed in her life time, life expectancy rates increase hugely due to research - for many types of cancer, for example.
That our late father suffered from Alzheimer's and realising there was simply nothing available to cure him, Mum was understandably distressed. Sadly, since 2022 she also started symptoms of a type of Dementia - the name of which doctors could not even decide upon - which seemed most unfair for such a bright, busy, kind and generous lady who actually continued with some help, to care for our Dad until the middle of 2023.
For as long as we can remember, Mum was one of the first to stand up to be counted in order to help others in need by raising funds for many charities via Round Table Ladies Group, Tangent, Ladies Circle and Inner Wheel. A great organiser, she cooked up ideas and headed committees and worked hard, giving up her time to make sure their fundraising activities were a fantastic success. We believe Mum would have been so very pleased to help raise funds for Alzheimer's Research UK - she said many a time she hoped a cure would be found soon in order the planet's future generations of human beings might live in a Dementia free world. We hope all the donations given here on the fundraising page in memory of Noreila, will help make it so. Thank you so much.
