Wrexham Maelor's Critical Care Team are raising £50,000 to create a new patient sensory garden to provide some relief from the clinical environments.

Story

Awyr Las is the North Wales NHS Charity and supports staff, patients and their families across the whole of North Wales and beyond.

I'm supporting them and the Critical Care Team at Wrexham Maelor Hospital to help raise money for their new sensory garden!

My husband, Mike Evans was admitted to Critical care in February 2020. Sadly that's where he passed away.

The care he received there was wonderful, and the dedicated staff were amazing with us as a family. Nothing was too much trouble. I'd intended to raise money for Critical care as a way of saying thank you, but Covid and all it's restrictions got in the way, and it got put on the back burner. At the tender age of 68,and now a great grandmother, I decided to do the abseil with my eldest son. It was bought for him for his 50th. Just to put a bit more pressure on myself I decided to do it for this charitable cause. Wish me luck!
